Meet Emma
As a trained dancer with 15 years of teaching experience from young children through to adults, teachers, and professional performers, I first discovered Pilates about 15 years ago and fell in love with the many benefits it has to offer.
In 2009 ill-health meant I had to leave the dance profession and left me believing I may never be well enough to teach again. After 8 years of slowly recovering from chronic fatigue syndrome, the time was right to explore the world of movement again. Pilates was the perfect choice as it was always an area I had loved after attending classes for several years before my illness. I am thrilled that my Pilates love affair has been rekindled…which I pass on to my clients with enthusiasm and joy - it is catching so beware!
I love the diversity that Pilates has to offer and believe that looking after your health and wellbeing shouldn’t be a punishment. It’s an amazing and empowering lifestyle decision that anyone can make. I believe in finding the pleasurable side of looking after your health and this starts with building a strong body and mind. There may be a sore muscle or two along the way, but the benefits of Pilates are worth it!
My classes are fun, flowing, and effective. Providing a challenge where desired and are designed to ensure clients are left feeling physically and mentally balanced, with a feeling of achievement and joy.
I am lucky to work with a variety of people in both personal and group sessions, but adore nothing more than helping my female clients to become stronger in both body and mind, and creating a supportive network within my classes. Especially as I personally know how beneficial Pilates can be to restore health and wellbeing.
I absolutely adore teaching Pilates and hope to meet you in class soon and spread the Pilates love a little further!
Love
Emma xx
Favourite Pilates Move?
Oooh - a hard question as there are so many!! Anything that rolls through the spine - but my favorite is Open Leg Rocker!
Nemesis Pilates Move?
Side Kick kneeling - I am getting better at it as I am practicing and strengthening but it is still a challenge for me!
What do you enjoy doing other than teaching and practicing Pilates?
Anything that is outside in the fresh air generally. Stand up paddle boarding is my top favourite, followed by walking and cycling Chilling out with my family is something I also do a lot to balance things out. Everyone needs downtime to let their bodies relax and re-energise.
What would you say to someone who had never done Pilates before but wanted to give it a whirl?
Listen to your body and do what you are comfortable with at the start. Progression, not perfection is a great motto to follow!!

"Emma's knowledge and variety of lessons challenged me but also made working out so much fun and rewarding. Emma is a fantastic teacher, very patient, kind and explained and demonstrated exercises clearly. Teaching really is in her blood."
